Tougher line urged on home violence

He has informed them that if they have enough evidence, the case should go to court and not be dealt with at parish hall level.

Speaking at the Centeniers’ quarterly meeting, William Bailhache said that once the charge was brought against an alleged offender, the case must come to court with the least possible delay.

He said that the direction applies to all types of domestic violence, not only in relation to spouses and partners.
