Assault on a silent killer

Doctors, nurses and patients yesterday held a special open day to launch the initiative and raise awareness of a disease dubbed the silent killer.

Their message was that if ovarian cancer is detected early enough, the survival rate is 95%.

If, however, diagnosis is not until the advanced stages, 85% of women will die of the disease.
