National Trust come out against flats at Portelet

They say that Dandara’s plans for the former holiday village – which includes 45 flats and five houses – are overbearing and intrusive and should not have been approved.

Comments were made by a number of members of the trust at their annual general meeting at Friday night, following Environment Minister Freddie Cohen’s decision to approve the development, designed by UK architect Richard MacCormac.

Senator Cohen made the decision last month against the advice of campaigners and officers within his own department.
