Hundreds of people queued along Broad Street to buy the £300 tickets when the lottery was launched last Thursday and organisers say that if all 6,000 tickets are sold, it will have raised ?500,000 for Jersey Hospice Care.
Fund-raising manager Katrina Bell said there had been a real ‘buzz’ surrounding the event.
‘Everywhere I go I hear people talking about it,’ she said. ‘It is fantastic that we have sold tickets twice as fast this year and generated so much money for Hospice. I think people were out queuing on the first day because they thought that we would sell out instantly.’
