I feel safer with this method of police inquiry

I am sick to death of hearing the pained pleas of the Bailiff, ministers and others, who are worried about their reputations, believe they’ve been misled or are concerned about the effect on the good name of the Island.

What are they suggesting – that we should hush up a possible major crime so that the national and international media don’t get to hear of it?

Haven’t these people given a single thought to the suffering of those who have had to relive their ordeals and cope with the strange feelings attached to being believed for the first time in their lives?

There is something fundamentally wrong with a government which challenges a police inquiry into such a serious crime while the investigation is still ongoing. This tragic child abuse investigation has brought out surprisingly bad behaviour in some of our statesmen who should know better.
