A DJ saved my life…

CHANNEL 103 breakfast stalwart Peter Mac has been told he may be the person to help save someone’s life in the UK.

The popular DJ has been told ten years after giving a blood sample to the Anthony Nolan Trust that his bone marrow could be needed and he has been asked to go to London for more tests.

His news comes the same week that an appeal to Islanders has been made by the trust, who are desperate for male donors. Special donor clinics are being held tomorrow at the General Hospital and the GP Co-op. The Anthony Nolan Trust helps sufferers of leukaemia and other related diseases by running a register of potential donors and undertaking essential research work.

After his surprise news, Peter is now urging other Islanders to sign up. He said: ‘It is very little commitment on your behalf. For some little bit of discomfort you may be able to save someone’s life in the future and it is well worth it. If it was one of your family members who needed help in the future, how far would you go to give them a chance of life?’
