Care home teeth tally now at 48

NEARLY 50 teeth have now been found at Haut de la Garenne during the police search of the site.

Police announced today that the forensic team have discovered a total of 48 teeth. Early indications suggest that most, if not all, are children’s milk teeth.

All of those teeth, apart from one found in the cistern, were found in cellars three and four or a corridor which links the two cellar areas. Work, including the detailed sieving process, still continues at the site which the team have been searching since mid-February.

There are currently 26 teeth in the UK undergoing examination. The rest will remain in the Island until the sieving work is completed before being forwarded to the UK.
