From William Le Bas (aged nine).
I AM writing because I am absolutely outraged by the state of St Brelade’s Bay.
I was on the beach with my Mum, Dad and Gran on 25 July. We had dinner at Spinnakers café, and then Mum and Gran went for a walk.Dad and I noticed a large amount of rubbish such as drink cans, plastic water bottles, sachets of ketchup and crisp packets on the beach. Dad asked for a bin bag at the café so that we could clean the beach for ten minutes.
But because there was so much rubbish it took 20 minutes instead of ten minutes, and in that 20 minutes we gathered four kilos of other people’s rubbish!
I can’t believe that people are not respecting the Island and its lovely beaches. Don’t they realise how lucky they are to live in such a beautiful place?
