Workers find bones believed to be human

A POLICE investigation has been launched after workmen found what are believed to be human bones at Jersey Steel.

The remains – thought to be part of a skull and at least two other bones – were found yesterday by Dandara workmen who were digging foundations at the site in St Peter.

Work was immediately stopped and a police cordon was placed around the site.

The bones, which were found in about two feet of rubble, have been covered and photographed, and their location has been marked.

Police were this morning waiting for the results. They say that there is no link to the historical child abuse inquiry.
