Deputy to stand again

DEPUTY Sean Power is standing for re-election.

The St Brelade No 2 Deputy (pictured left), who was elected in 2005, has announced that he will fight to keep his seat. His fellow district representative, Deputy Peter Troy, is standing for ‘promotion’ to the Senatorial benches.

Deputy Power says that he will be producing a detailed manifesto and policy statement after the current elections for Constables and Senators. He is a member of the Planning Applications Panel and a member of the Health, Social Security and Housing Scrutiny panel.

He also chaired the Scrutiny sub-panels to look into Housing and the Social Housing Pro-perty Plan. In a statement confirming his candidacy, Deputy Power wrote: ‘I have represented many parishioners in all sorts of issues from the Railway Walk and vandalism to evictions at Les Quennevais.

‘I have been involved in harbour and ferry issues, the proposed closure of Overdale, social rented housing, Elizabeth Castle ferries, Les Ormes, Homebuy and many more.’
