Guru Josh turns back the clock

JERSEYMAN is riding high in the pop charts across Europe with a tune he originally released back in 1989.

Paul Walden, whose stage name is Guru Josh, is topping the charts in France and Belgium and was in the top five across many other countries including the UK, Holland, Germany, Austria, Norway, Germany and Switzerland.

The song ‘Infinity 2008’ is also in the top 40 in Ireland, Bulgaria and Denmark among others. In fact the re-released version is doing considerably better then the original ever did. On New Year’s Eve, Guru Josh is due to play at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin in front of 600,000 people, and he was this week heading for France to perform and conduct a series of TV interviews.

He has played to a crowd of 200,000 in Leipzig and said that the occasion was amazing — so he is looking forward very much to Berlin. Mr Walden’s father, Harold, is a retired dentist who lives in St Brelade and is well known as one of Jersey’s top bridge players.
