A COMPREHENSIVE victory at Les Quennevais for Jersey’s MacInvest RWB means they will have their name inscribed on the Inter-Insular Club Shield for the fifth time.

Captain and player of the match Becky Darts, having received the trophy from Chris Rebindaine of CI hockey sponsors Investec, sportingly thanked the young Puffins side for a tough encounter, but her assertion that the scoreline flattered the Jersey team was nowhere near as accurate as her own splendid midfield play.

The Jersey side, full of experienced, strong and athletic players – and a fair portion of the Island ladies football team – dominated much of the territory and possession as well as creating a wealth more scoring opportunities than their game and sporting opponents.

RWB’s manager Raydene Stracy was thrilled with the victory, although saying her team were not at their very best. MacInvest RWB: Slyvia Spinola, Steph henwood, Kerry Sauvage, Lori Morin, Sarah heelis, Chrissie Hefford, Nina Driscoll, Becky Darts, Zoe Smart, Jen Brankin, Sally MacDowall, Clare Desmond, Rachel Smith. Manager: Raydene Stracy.
