Tim Wysmuller, of Cape Construction, has submitted an application for a purpose-built facility on an old garden adjacent to Lakeside Care Home.
He says there is no connection between the two businesses and if approved the new home will be operated by another local health-care provider.
The design for 20-rooms over two floors, which will be surrounded by secure landscaped gardens, has been drawn up by Wildbore Hands Ltd. Residents in the ten ground-floor rooms will have their own private gardens.
