Firefighters were called to Le Marais flats after neighbours heard the smoke alarms of the sixth floor property.
However, when firefighters entered the flat shortly after 6.15 pm they discovered no one was home except the family pet which had been using the smoke alarm test button as a ‘scratching post’.
