Most of these developments have been done well, but I feel enough is enough.
St Clement has had its share of developments and most recently, with the passing of the Samarès Nurseries site for the development of 200-plus properties, I don’t think any thought has gone into it at all – it will create one huge concrete jungle.
The properties will be built on marshland, and there are already problems with roads collapsing on Rue du Maupertuis.
How will the infrastructure cope with drainage, the primary school, secondary school, the traffic etc?
I believe it should be used as a park for the people of St Clement rather than allow more of this parish to be concreted over. As in the words of Cat Stevens: ‘Where will the children play?’
