The Royal Jersey Showground once again played host to the Island’s biggest music festival with Islanders young and old taking the chance to end the summer in style.
Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes provided one of the most energetic sets Jersey has seen in a number of years – with lead singer Carter at one point launching himself into the crowd to join a large mosh pit.
That set the tone for the rest of the evening as Circa Waves performed a well-received set before Blossoms proved why they are being tipped as future headliners at the UK’s biggest festivals, closing their set with summer hit Charlemagne.
Saturday night headliners Pendulum brought the first day of the festival to a fitting conclusion. The electronic rock band, whose hits include Propane Nightmares, Blood Sugar and Slam, gave an effortless performance which delighted the thousands gathered at the main stage.
The shorts and flip-flops of Saturday may have made way for wellies and raincoats on Sunday, but that did not stop the crowd from enjoying the party – although the weather may have put some off from returning for day two.
Becky Hill and Sundara Karma both gave fantastic performances before Happy Mondays – taking the ‘Icons Slot’ – showed why they are one of the most enduring bands of the Madchester scene.
That left Wilkinson and Sunday headliners Two Door Cinema Club to close the festival – which followed the cancellation of Jersey Live after 12 years – in style.
