Crew member rescued after falling overboard

The St Helier all-weather and inshore lifeboats were called out at about 11 am after the six-metre sailing yacht, which was two miles south-east of the Harbour, reported that a crew member had fallen overboard and disappeared.

In force five winds and a moderate swell, the crew of the all-weather boat spotted the man, who was wearing a dark wet suit and dark buoyancy aid, about 100-ft from the lifeboat’s track.

They took him back to St Helier where he was reunited with the other two crew members of the local yacht. He was uninjured.
