Shortly after 9 pm, reports came in to the emergency services’ combined control centre regarding the incident and two vehicles crewed by nine firefighters were dispatched to the address.

En-route, it was deemed that water supplies were very limited around the vicinity of the affected property and a water carrier was also dispatched from the Fire and Rescue Service’s St Helier station.

When crews arrived, two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the affected property and extinguished the flames using water jets. Crews remained at the scene until 11 pm to ensure that the fire was completely out.

It is believed that the fire started in an electrical appliance housed inside of the boiler room.
