Royal Court will hear historical sex abuse case

Wilfred Stanley Morrish, of Le Marais, is alleged to have committed the offences against three young girls.

He is accused of one count of attempted rape, three charges of gross indecency and 11 counts of indecent assault. Mr Morrish is also charged with three counts of being in possession of indecent images of children and one count of assault.

In sending the case to the upper court, the Magistrate, Bridget Shaw, said: ‘Because these [alleged] matters are too serious to be dealt with here, they will be dealt with by the Royal Court.’ Mrs Shaw told the defendant that his lawyer, Advocate Ian Jones, would be contacted by the Royal Court to notify him of a date in due course.
