HMS Mersey due to visit for Boat Show

The 79-metre ship, which is used as a fisheries protection vessel, will be berthed at the Albert Pier during the three-day event from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 May. It will be open to the public between 11 am and 4 pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

The ship will be joined by two other Navy vessels – HMS Smiter and HMS Ranger, both patrol ships, from Oxford University and Sussex University respectively. The vessels are used for two purposes: transferring crews from ship to shore and as a fire support platform.

The show – the largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands – will also feature luxury yachts as well as entertainment and food stalls.
