In the first incident on Monday morning, a 35-year-old man on a black Piaggio Vespa scooter was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta on Victoria Avenue, near West Park.

At around the same time, officers from the States police were called to La Neuve Route, in St Aubin, where an elderly female motorist was involved in a collision with a parked car outside St Brelade’s Parish Hall. She was taken to hospital where she was treated for shock and discharged.

The incident, which took place near the Hotel de Normandie, left a 36-year-old man – who was in charge of the vehicle – with an open leg fracture and he was taken to hospital. A 41-year-old woman, riding pillion, was uninjured.

Honorary and States officers kept the road and surrounding routes closed until 5.51 pm while they investigated.
