However, Paul Luxon said that the owners of Condor would now look at a sale process in early 2019.
He said: ‘As reported during this year, there has been some unsolicited incoming interest which has not progressed and the intention had always been to look at a sale process in early 2019.’
The fund that owns the ferry operator – Macquarie European Investment Fund 2 – was only intended to be active for a limited period of time and its term finished in May.
And earlier this year, the Australia-based financial group that manages the fund said its intention was to sell Condor in the next 18 months.
However, Condor Ferries has stressed that its focus was on its ferry services and said that it is business as usual in the meantime.
