The grandmother had originally set herself 80 challenges to celebrate reaching her 80th birthday but this total grew.

Among her challenges she has walked on stilts, skydived, shot a bull’s eye in archery and abseiled down the side of Mont Orgueil.

Last month, her team took over all eight lanes at Les Quennevais Sports Centre for the annual Swimarathon, in memory of her daughter, Karryna Lovesey, who died last year.

Mrs McLaughlin raised £7,500 during her challenges. The money was split between the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, MacMillan Cancer Support, Friends of Jersey Oncology and Cancer Research.
