It can also be revealed that the event – the fifth of its kind – is to be held at Le Manoir de Rooster in Trinity, which is the home of potato exporters Albert Bartlett.

Invitations have gone out to the 39 finalists, who were shortlisted across 13 categories following a public voting process. For the first time, this year’s awards include the category of Diversity and Inclusion Champion, which proved to be one of the most popular classes, attracting a high number of nominations.

The high-tech factory where Albert Bartlett process their potatoes is to be transformed into an exciting event space in which the Island’s farming traditions and modern methods will combine to celebrate the community that surrounds them.

Julie Settle from EC Events, the JEP’s sister company that is organising the Dandara-sponsored award ceremony on 26 September, said those attending were in for a great evening of community spirit and entertainment. And she added that there would be a few surprises along the way.

‘I’m excited to be running an event in a venue like Albert Bartlett because there are so many creative opportunities to make it a stunning evening.

‘We are delighted that Albert Bartlett are providing the venue and sponsoring an award, and our thanks also go to Dandara for making this all possible.’

This year the Bailiff, Sir William Bailhache, and Chief Minister John Le Fondré are both due to attend.

A former player for Chelsea, Blackburn and Southampton, Mr Le Saux, who is from the Island, has hosted the Pride of Jersey Awards since the event’s inception in 2015. He has previously been joined on the stage by singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot.

This year he will present the awards alongside Ms Mottram, who currently lives in London and performs around the world both as a soloist and with her classical crossover group Ida Girls London. She regularly returns to Jersey, and the group gave its first local performance at Government House in June in aid of Jersey Sings.

Ms Mottram said: ‘I am hugely honoured to be coming back to Jersey for such an incredible event. And obviously I am looking forward to meeting all the inspiring people of Jersey who have made it through to the finals of the Pride of Jersey Awards 2019.’
