Anthony Smith, chief executive of the Leicester-based company, made the announcement while calling for business rates to be lowered.
However, the firm has not made any specific comments about the viability of its King Street store or whether commercial rates were too high in St Helier.
Speaking to the BBC yesterday, he said: ‘It’s a simple maths question. Every time a lease comes up, we’ll look at the mathematics of it. If we are not making any money out of it… the shop will unfortunately close.’
