Number of coronavirus deaths in Jersey rises to 25

A total of 11 people have now died from the disease in care homes, with a further 11 in the General Hospital, two in St Saviour’s Hospital and one in a private home.

Seven of the people who died were aged 90 or over; eight were aged 80-89; seven were 70-79; two aged 60-69 and one aged under 60.

There have been 293 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Jersey, compared to 284 on the same day last week.

There are currently six people in the General Hospital with coronavirus, according to the Government of Jersey, which is due to officially open the Nightingale Hospital at Millbrook playing fields on Monday.
