Restaurant at St Helier Harbour set to reopen

The Shipyard (32604782)

THE restaurant at the Elizabeth Terminal is to reopen under new management.

After remaining vacant for several years, the Elizabeth Harbour Terminal Café underwent a major refit in 2018 and opened the following year.

Named the The Shipyard, the venue was run by Casual Dining Group who – shortly after the outbreak of Covid – went into administration in July 2020.

But the café area looks set to come to life again, after it was announced that JP Restaurants – who operate Banjo, Crabshack and Café Ubé – were due to take the premises on.

The company, which already runs the catering operation at the Airport, is due to extend its existing ‘grab and go’ offering, which it runs from a kiosk in the Harbour Terminal, into the café area.

Similar to the Airport format, table service – with an option to order at the bar or by app – will be in place.

Those behind the venture say that as passenger numbers increase, the food offering will be developed to provide more substantial meals and a full bar service.

The new restaurant is due to open at Easter.
