THE first cruise ship to visit Jersey in almost two and a half years has arrived in local waters.
The 15,000-ton luxury vessel – MS Hamburg – anchored in St Aubin’s Bay around 7.30am this morning and will remain there until lunchtime.
Up to 200 visitors, consisting mostly of German nationals, are due to disembark via the Albert Pier to enjoy a number of pre-booked excursions, including panoramic tours of the east and west coasts.
The Conti Group-owned ship has spent the last month cruising around the Canary Islands, Azores and mainland Portugal and will soon sail to Dover before returning to Germany.
It can accommodate up to 420 passengers and has a crew of 170 people
