THE average weekly earnings of full-time employees have been revealed in the latest report by Statistics Jersey.

The report reveals that:

  • Average weekly earnings per full-time equivalent employee in June this year were 6.2% higher than in June 2021.

  • The latest annual increase in average earnings in the private sector was the highest recorded for 21 years. Average earnings in the private sector rose by 6.7% in the 12 months to June. In the public sector, earnings rose by 3.1%.

  • The headline rate of inflation in Jersey in June 2022 was 7.9%.

  • In real terms (when taking into account the rise in inflation), all-sector average earnings in June 2022 were 1.6% lower than in June 2021, the largest fall since June 2011.

  • Over the last ten years, since 2012, all-sector average earnings have increased in real terms by 0.8%.

  • Mean average weekly earnings of full-time equivalent employees was £860 per week.
