THE RNLI has today reminded people to check the tides before walking on the shore after recently rescuing two people cut off at Seymour Tower.

The St Catherine’s inshore lifeboat was sent out to collect the pair, who were uninjured.

In a Facebook post, the RNLI said: ‘On Friday 26th August, the St Catherine’s crew were paged for two casualties cut off by the tide at Seymour Tower. They were uninjured and with guests staying at the Tower.

‘The crew launched the Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat and made their way to Seymour Tower.

‘The crew navigated through the rocks to the north side of Seymour Tower to retrieve the two casualties.

‘The lifeboat then returned to St Catherine’s lifeboat station with the casualties.

‘We would like to reiterate that before you head out, make sure it’s safe and check the tide tables. While you’re out, be aware of your surroundings and the tide’s direction.’
