A TEMPORARY speed bump put up at the bottom of St Saviour’s Hill has been labelled ‘dangerous’ and ‘aggressive’.
The ramp, by Le Geyt Road and Highlands Lane, is a ‘trench plating system’ – an approved highways product – which was placed over a trench excavated by a utility company to allow traffic to go past.
But sharing a video on Twitter on Sunday evening, Matthew Hotton warned Islanders about the ‘aggressive’ speed bump. He added that there were initially no warning signs and called it ‘very dangerous’.

‘One lady I spoke to was nearly thrown from her bicycle then a car nearly shunted her from behind,’ he added.
Some Islanders replied to the tweet to raise concerns about dangers to cyclists and those on motorbikes, while others also called it ‘dangerous’
Additional signage was put up on Monday to warn people of the ramp and to slow down, and the government’s streetworks team reviewed the signage.
The speed bump was expected to be removed on Monday night, according to St Saviour’s Parish Hall.
