THE education and wellbeing of Beaulieu students is always a priority, the school’s chief operating officer has said.
Pippa Davidson-Coleshill made the comments in response to parents who have complained following the controversial departure of former head of secondary Andrea Firby.
Mrs Davidson-Coleshill said the school was keen to work collaboratively with parents and added that they would have the opportunity to express their concerns during the new parent council meeting on 26 January.
A statement released by Mrs Davidson-Coleshill, on behalf of the school, said: ‘We are preparing a frequently-asked-questions document, which is due to be sent to all parents early next week, which we hope will capture the main questions posed by parents during the last days, and benefit all parents.
‘We are not experiencing higher-than-usual turnover of staff, given the post-Covid and current economic climate, and we continue to attract, recruit and develop high-quality staff. Staff changes are a factor experienced by all schools in Jersey and in the UK.
‘Our parents are very much part of the Beaulieu community and we are keen to work collaboratively with them moving forward. Our students, their education and their wellbeing has always remained our priority and our relationship with our parents is paramount in ensuring they feel happy and excel at school.’
She added that if parents had further questions before 26 January, they could contact the school directly.
Bernadette White, head of primary, and Paul Robinson, acting head teacher, would also be available to meet parents ahead of the council meeting, the letter added.
