A 60-YEAR-OLD man has admitted stealing 14 bottles of vodka, worth more than £360, from a town supermarket.
Michael Andrew Ward pleaded guilty to ten charges of theft from Marks & Spencer in Liberty Wharf.
The Magistrate’s Court heard that he had stolen one bottle from the shop on 26 March last year and returned on the next two days, stealing another bottle each time. Then on 1 May, 2 May and 3 May he visited the shop and stole one bottle each day. On 4 May, 30 November, 19 December and 29 December he made off with two at a time.
The combined cost of the bottles stolen was £361.20.
Sentencing was adjourned to allow for a background report and Ward was released on bail.
