A NOVEL form of outdoor cinema will be coming to St Helier from Germany later this month – for one night only.

Members of Hamburg-based artist group ‘A Wall is a Screen’ are heading to Jersey as part of the 13th Parish independent film festival to stage an open-air film walk on Saturday 20 May, with short films projected on walls and other urban structures.

The group was founded 20 years ago and has performed at some of the world’s top film festivals.

Both the route and the programme for the event will be a surprise, with attendees meeting at the start and being guided through town to discover St Helier in the unique light of cinema.

Festival director Tony Langlois said: ‘We’re really looking forward to inviting all of Jersey’s citizens to join us on this walk through town – it’s free and we know it will be absolutely magical, with something for everyone in the programme.’

Anyone wishing to attend should be at West’s Centre at 9.15pm on 20 May.
