Daughter of missing man is to raise funds for charity searchers

Mr Frost, who was last seen at his parents’ address near L’Etacq in St Ouen, on Saturday 11 February

THE daughter of a 51-year-old man whose disappearance earlier this year sparked a major search operation will be walking 48 miles the day before Father’s Day to raise money for two charities involved in the search.

Accompanied by a group of her friends, Thomas Frost’s daughter, Emily, will attempt to complete the Island Walk on 17 June in aid of the RNLI and Channel Islands Air Search.

‘When my dad went missing in February, the RNLI and Channel Islands Air Search worked extremely long hours searching for him,’ she says on her JustGiving page. ‘My family is exceptionally grateful for their time, support and resources.

‘The 18th of June is Father’s Day – I would like to complete this walk for my dad, whilst raising money for these important services. The donations received will be divided equally between these two charities.’

Emily’s fundraising target was initially £100, but donations have surpassed £3,000 in less than 24 hours.

In a post on Facebook, the RNLI Jersey has urged Islanders to show ‘support and compassion by helping Emily raise as much money as possible’.

‘Every contribution makes a difference,’ they add.

Mr Frost – who is 5ft 10in, of medium build and has greying hair – was last seen at his parents’ address near L’Etacq in St Ouen, on Saturday 11 February at around 10pm.

Despite an extensive search, which included drones, boats, planes and a search-and-rescue dog and had help from Jersey Search and Rescue, Jersey Fire and Rescue Service, the RNLI, Channel Islands Air Search, Jersey Coastguard, CI Search and the honorary police, he was not found.

Despite following up numerous lines of inquiry and receiving several reports of people matching Mr Frost’s description, there have been no confirmed sightings since Mr Frost left his parents’ house.

On the two-month anniversary of the 51-year-old’s disappearance, the police concluded the ‘physical’ stage of the search for Mr Frost – but pledged to keep the wider investigation open.
