A WAVE of nostalgia flooded social media over the weekend after a JEP article got the Island reminiscing about Jersey’s thriving nightclub scene of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Memories of wild evenings, dodgy haircuts and cheap drinks were brought to the fore following a comment piece by Jodie Yettram, which examined the Island’s ‘marked departure’ from the party days of years gone by.

Hundreds of Islanders took to Facebook to share their memories, with one claiming that the era represented ‘the best’ of the local clubbing scene.

Another commented: ‘Good article. Jersey’s night life was fun back then. I am sad at the lack of any kind of a “scene” for our young people.’

And another wrote: ‘Great article, Jodie Yettram, and brave publishing by Jersey Evening Post.

‘Best days and nights of my life 1990-1992. Thackerays, Raffles, Madison’s, L’Auberge, Sands, La Buvette, Churchills, Warehouse. We were all young and free, life was so much fun on Jersey back then. Happy days indeed.’
