A 52-YEAR-OLD man accused of trying to import cocaine with an estimated street value of £22,000 into Jersey by ferry is due to face the Royal Court.

Philip Delduca is charged with smuggling 100g of the Class A drug on the Condor ferry from Poole on Sunday (11 June).

He appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, but the case was deemed serious enough by Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris to be referred to the Royal Court.

Mr Delduca, who was represented by Duty Advocate Chris Baglin, is scheduled to next appear in court on 18 September 2023. He has been remanded in custody in the meantime.
