ALMOST 90 witness statements have been taken during the investigation into a suspected hit-and-run which killed a father-and son last month.
Dean Lowe (48) and 11-year-old Charlie died after being hit by a vehicle as they walked along Rue de Fauvic in Grouville on the night of Saturday 5 August.
A white van with substantial front-end damage was found in St Helier the following morning, and a 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop and report an accident remains on police bail.
In an update issued today, the States police said that a team of nine investigators are continuing to work on the inquiry, named Operation Doric.
Eighty-eight witness statements have been taken, 94 lines of inquiry have been completed and 27 are in progress.
The team have visited 69 premises in the area and have gathered CCTV footage.
