CONDOR Ferries has blamed the failure of scanning equipment operated by the UK Border Force for a delay that saw passengers on a ferry from Jersey and Guernsey wait 90 minutes to disembark after arriving in Poole.
The problem affected the Liberation service which arrived in the UK port at 9pm on Thursday.
One exasperated passenger contacted the JEP during the delay, saying that passengers had been offered no explanation.
While a Condor spokesperson said UK Border Force equipment had caused the problem, a Home Office spokesperson said that a 90-minute delay “isn’t an overly long time” and that no comment would be provided on an operational matter.
