Pictures: Plémont Beach

The beach level at Plémont has fallen, exposing rock where once there were golden sands Pictures: DAVID FERGUSON

Regular visitors to Plémont beach will have seen changes in the sand levels over the years, but at the moment it is particularly low, with scores of boulders exposed. Hopefully, the bay’s golden sands will be back by summer, ready to welcome sunbathers’ towels on one of the Island’s best beaches.

Heavy winter rains have drained through the beach
Huge boulders have been exposed as the sand levels have dropped
The Plémont bridge is over rocks rather than sea or sand
The beach is still a beautiful spot for a swim
