For his third Games (having swam in Melbourne and competed in the triathlon in Glasgow), Halksworth will be joined by Jack Rebours (coached by Chris McNamara) in the men’s event, as well as Helen Ralston and Kim Ashton in the women’s event.

In the Carrara Stadium, track athlete Elliott Dorey – added to Team Jersey on appeal in January – warms up for his tilt at reaching the men’s 1,500m final with an outing in the 800m heats, and Sam Dawkins, who ran in the 400m yesterday, will return for a half-lap 200m sprint.

Elsewhere, Jersey’s quartet of badminton players (Alex Hutchings, Matthew Bignall, Elise Dixon and Emily Temple-Redshaw) will play in the preliminaries of the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles, on top of the men’s and women’s singles.

Jersey 2015 golden girl Nikki Holmes and Cameron Pirouet will shoot in their second events of the Games along with Gotland gold medallist Andrew Chapman. Holmes is set to compete in the 25m pistol while European junior bronze medallist Pirouet, competes with Chapman in the 50m rifle prone. In addition to this, Barry le Cheminant and David le Quesne will finish their two day event as the final of the Queen’s Prize pairs comes to its conclusion.

Lastly, it will be another big day for bowls as Jersey play in more preliminaries of the men’s singles (Malcolm de Sousa) alongside the women’s pairs and triples.
