Jersey Reds just fall short at Ealing

The Reds fought hard causing Trailfinders to make many mistakes but the physicality and defence of Ealing stopped Jersey from fully being able to capitalise.

By the end of the first half there was almost no difference between the teams with Ealing trailing by one point, 15-14.

Jersey’s last try came just pass the 80 minute mark setting up for one last push to try and take the victory.

It was down to Ealing’s relentless defence to show a strong home crowd why they deserve first place in the league and they did, not allowing Jersey’s final drive out of their own half.

Jersey will have many positives to take from the game into next week’s fixture against Cornish Pirates but they lacked discipline at times, something all the players will need to admit if they want to go on to contend for first place currently held by Ealing.
