Jersey FA bring in Warnock

Neil Warnock will be the guest speaker at this year's JFA awards

FORMER Premier League manager Neil Warnock is set to help the Jersey FA celebrate the 2022/23 season in style this spring.

The 74-year-old, who holds the record for the most promotions in English professional football, with eight, has agreed to act as headline speaker at the JFA’s annual awards night, at the Radisson Blu on Friday 19 May.

Warnock, who managed the likes of Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, QPR, Leeds and Middlesborough, ended his 42-year career in 2022 and has since become a popular figure in the worlds of television and radio punditry. He is also embarking on a multi-city stage tour this year, discussing the highs and lows of his time on the touchline.

‘Neil has never been to the Island before so he is very keen to come over,’ said JFA chief executive David Kennedy.

‘The appeal for him was to see what Jersey is like and he is keen to hear about Jersey football as well.

‘We plan to take him around the Island to show him the clubs, and we’ll also have our Performance Centre sessions running too.

‘We’re very pleased that someone of his calibre is able to attend. His no-nonsense approach as a manager and pundit has made him one of the most popular figures in the game. It’s guaranteed to be a night to remember.’

Tickets for the event cost £70 and can be purchased by contacting info@jerseyfa.com. Sponsorship packages are also available.
