A STRONG field of 40 riders took to Egypt Woods in Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club’s latest trial.

Competitors were faced with tough streams, unforgiving rocks, climbs and log sections, putting everyone’s endurance and strength to the test.

It was Adam Le Cheminant who secured victory in the Expert A route with Lee Rogan a very close second, as the latter looks to close the gap on Le Cheminant this campaign.

Danny Lowe took the win over Jersey veteran Thomas Mollet in the Clubman Expert B+ route. A good battle looks set to take place between the duo this season.

Clubman B route champion for the day was Glen Hamel, followed by – freshly back from the Alps – Ricky Morin in second, and, with his first trial season in a long while, Matt Rayson secured third. He will be one to watch this year.

The Twinshock class was won by the mighty Richard Blandin on the Bultaco, followed closely by trials chairman Stewart Le Breton on the Fantic.

Meanwhile, in the Novice Plus / C+ route, winning by a single mark, it was Andrew Deffains who took top spot over John Philpott.

Amelia Jeune and Richard Vibert came in equal third, but it came down to one clean section between them for Jeune to reign victorious.

However, the star of the show in the Novice C route for only his second trial out was Elliot Brown. The soon-to-be father has been imperious in his first couple of events this season.

Junior B+ saw a battle between Kerry Knowles and Archie Langlois with the former coming out on top on this occasion.
