A super six for Jersey Reds

Jersey Reds beat Coventry 40-14 at St Peter

TWO tries and an assist from Tomi Lewis on his home league debut helped steer Jersey Reds to a thumping win over Championship rivals Coventry.

The Islanders added another six tries to the eight they scored against Ampthill on the opening day of the 2022/23 season, with a 40-14 triumph in week two providing a second bonus-point and plenty more confidence.

Jordan Holgate crossed after Antonio Harris had struck twice from close range at St Peter as Jersey stormed into a 35-0 lead – despite having played ten of the first 15 minutes a man light due to a sin bin for the hooker.

Jordon Poole and Louis Brown ensured that Coventry would not end scoreless, but Jersey had the final say as Eoghan Clarke also added his name to the scoresheet. Kicker Russell Bennett provided ten points from the tee.
