Ivan Juric returns for third spell as Genoa head coach

Ivan Juric has returned to Genoa as head coach following the dismissal of Davide Ballardini.

Croatian manager Juric first took control of the Grifone in June 2016 after guiding Crotone to promotion but was sacked in February 2017 before being briefly reinstated two months later.

On Tuesday his permanent successor Ballardini paid the price for Sunday’s 3-1 home defeat by Parma, which was only a third loss of the Serie A season for a Genoa side who have won four times so far.

In a statement Genoa said Juric would oversee first-team training on Wednesday, after meeting the media. His first competitive task will be a trip to champions and leaders Juventus on October 20.
