It is almost five months since 51-year-old Ana Rebelo was found dead in hear Victoria Street home. A post-mortem examination found that the mother from Portugal died from ‘compression to the neck by a third party’.
Despite two arrests being made, no one has yet been charged with her murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Fossey and Detective Inspector Steve Langford, the two officers leading the case, have persistently said they believe there is no risk to the public.
The 25-year-old man has been released following a number of interviews with police. A 58-year-old man, who was originally arrested in April, remains on police bail.
A police spokeswoman said: ‘Almost five months on from the death of 51 year old Ana Rebelo, this complex investigation continues, both suspects have returned for further interviews, and as a result the 25 year old man has since been released from police bail.
‘The 58 year old man, originally arrested in April, remains on police bail and we continue working closely with the Law Officers Department. We are preparing a file for consideration by the LOD and a decision by them is not expected for a couple of months.’
