In a statement, detectives said that she was walking past St Mark’s Church, in St Mark’s Road, when the thief grabbed her bag.
The man then ran off, before turning into Byron Road. The incident happened between 1am and 2am.
The suspect is described as being slim and wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and dark-coloured skinny jeans or leggings. The handbag is described as red and cream in colour with a prominent lock.
