Lucky escape for cow

At 11.25 am yesterday two crews from Jersey Fire and Rescue were called to farmland in St John to rescue the cow who was suffering from swelling to her neck and jaw, which prevented her from being released.

Crew members released her by separating the water tank from the trailer chassis and lifting the tank clear.

After approximately 20 minutes the crew members were able to lift the tank clear and free the trapped cow. Luckily she only suffered minor superficial injuries to her neck and seemed otherwise unaffected by her ordeal.
