Education Minister cleared of misconduct

Education Minister cleared of misconduct

The complaint, which was made by Health Minister Andrew Green, centred on three main points.

1. Allegations made in an anonymous letter to Education director Justin Donovan that Deputy Bryans was ‘overly familiar’ with female members of staff in the Education Department

2. A specific incident in which Deputy Bryans unzipped Social Security Minister Susie Pinel’s dress to bra level and commented on its colour

3. ‘General disquiet’ about his attitude and interactions with female members of staff.

Deputy Bryans stepped aside from his position as Education Minister while the investigation was being carried out.

The Commissioner for Standards Paul Kernaghan cleared Deputy Bryans of all the allegations.
